This Building for the Hearing Impaired Institute is Designed on the Technical data Obtained from Royal National Institute for the Deaf - U.K. Foundation Stone was Laid by Smt. Indira Gandhi, the then Prime Minister of India in 1970. This Specially Designed School is an Award Winner Specimen of Architectural Design, Specially Prepared Red Colored Stones, Zig Zag Corridors to suit Child's Nature, Half Round Shaped Sitting Arrangement in Class Rooms, Special Provisions for Clarity of Sound, Special Natural Light Arrangement for Leap reading, Judicious use of Bright Colors, Hearing Impaired Children Sittings like Small Birds in their Nests Like Class Rooms Hidden Under the Cover of all round greenery, trees, cripper, flower, birds, creats all - together a different ambience contrary to conventional type school study. Here Class Rooms are not Merely a base four Walls but a Materialistic means of Live Education System. The Institute has Audiology, Speech, Early Intervention Center, Affordable Hearing Aid Center, Ear Mould Lab, Parent's Counselling, Mother's Training Center and Teacher's Training College. The Education Starts from Nursery to S.S.C. along with other Facilities of Vocational Training like Computer, D.T.P. - Graphics, Offset-Screen Printing, Tailoring etc. |

ADMISSION: As the school also offers hostel facility, applications of children around 4 years of age are received from all over the country. The child is assessed to know his learning capacity & whether his other senses are normal, by evaluating his/her in born abilities. During the course of this evaluation, other impairedness like mental retardation, blindness, cerebral palsy of the child is also assessed and sent to the relevant school for education.
LIBRARY: The eagerness for knowledge increases in the child along with learning of speech and language. The school Library which is handled by a qualified librarian, satisfies their quest for knowledge. There are more than 4700 books in the library on various subjects which includes story books, books useful in deaf education and Teachers’ Training College, reference books and periodicals. Through slide show, the children enjoy the pleasure of seeing the stories. In addition, the children and the teachers gain knowledge through newspapers in the library.
